Wedged between Mitte, Tiergarten, and Charlottenburg, Moabit may not be the biggest tourist attraction but it is home to cozy restaurants and great bars that are less inundated than other districts. With the rising prices and lack of availability for flats in the center of Berlin, many are migrating to the district not only to live but also to hangout. Hop on the ring bahn and make your way to some of these spots and see what else you can discover along the way.

Beers Along the Spree

While there has been some redecorating since they’ve opened in the 17th century, Zollpackhof is the perfect destination to head to after a day of sightseeing. Located along the spree with views of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, drop into to their Biergarten for drinks and light fare or make a reservation to sit inside for a traditional german dinner alongside their fire pit. Get there before October as they’re closed for the winter season until March.

Vegan Brunch

Go Veggie at Geh Veg. Choose from a variety of breakfast options including bread and spreads or muesli as well as their black bean burger and power salad. They also have a selection of hot and cold drinks, cakes and vegan Eis. No matter if you’re starving or just want to satisfy your sweet tooth there are no shortage of choices.

Date Night

The classic brick and wood interior of Kowski makes the perfect backdrop to get to know a new flame. Meet up over their daily lunch specials, cakes, coffee, or original and classic cocktails. If things go well, maybe you can head back there for a breakfast date.

Dinner and Drinks

Grab your squad for a fancy night out at the restaurant and bar inside the Mercure Hotel MOA. Walk through their scenic greenhouse entrance and choose your spot in their lounge area for a glass of or sit down in their restaurant for a gourmet dinner with French influence. It’s not a late night spot so once your drinks are finished, an U-Bahn stop is just across the street to take you to a new spot to keep the night going.

Three Times as Nice

Looking for a relaxed place where you can work over a coffee or grab a book and a glass of wine? Buchkantine is a bookstore, restaurant, and cocktail bar with an outdoor patio just across from the spree. Whether you’re there for brunch, lunch, or Eis try one of their homemade teas or traditional cocktails.
